The Atkinson has recently reopened after a massive redevelopment. The venue is a theatre, library, museum and gallery. The museum displays the history of Sefton and has a brand new Egyptology gallery. They also run a series of talks, the next being a talk on Roman Rural Settlements on Merseyside and the Wirral by Dr Mark Adams. Dr Adams is a specialist in ancient metallurgy and for over twelve years a field officer with Liverpool Field Archaeology department, directing many excavations in the county. The talk is on Tuesday 15th December, 7pm and is free for members/£5 for non-members.
